Summer at Chalet Berwyn
Chalet Berwyn has everything a family needs for an action packed summer holiday. Situated in Briancon the area is popular due to there being many activities available for all age groups, stunning scenery and the summer sunshine!
Briancon, the highest town in Europe at 1326m, enjoys an exceptional climate boasting 300 days of sunshine a year. It is a historic town providing both art and culture. It is also fantastic for outdoor sport enthusiasts. Activities are available for all the family and in this area include mountain climbing, white water rafting, canoeing, Via Ferrata, mountain biking and mountain walks. (You don't even have to walk/ride uphill as the ski lifts operate in the summer!)
You can be as active or lazy as you like. There are plenty of attractions to visit in the area. The old town of Briancon with its narrow cobbled streets, famous gargoyles and old sundials is well worth a visit.
There are some superb facilities for the children and adults alike including a fantastic swimming complex in Briancon (indoor swimming lanes, recreation pool and an outdoor pool), indoor and outdoor tennis, bowling alley, cinema, casino and theatre. Truly a resort for all the family!
Nearby are go kart and quad biking circuits as well as horse riding and golf courses. There are also numerous bars, bistros and restaurants in the area.
Down the valley towards Embrum spectacular mountain scenery leads you to Mont Dauphin, a fortified village, and at Embrum, approx 45 minutes away, there is a large and beautiful lake ideal for all water sports and providing a safe haven for children.
